The gathering took place at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai. Yet it was not just the high-profile union of an elite Nigerian family with a well-known Los Angeles personality that caught attention. What surprised many onlookers was the man standing at the altar to conduct the ceremony. Tobey Maguire, the 51-year-old actor famous for playing Spider-Man and Meyer's former husband, served as the wedding officiant.
Maguire stepped into the role just weeks after his legal separation from Meyer became final. The sight of a former husband presiding over his ex-wife's new marriage instantly turned the private gathering into a subject of discussion across social platforms.

By August 2024, the couple took the next step in their relationship. Meyer publicly confirmed their engagement by sharing a photograph of the two embracing while she showed off her engagement ring.
Ogunlesi has built his own career within the American entertainment and music industries. He is the founder and chief executive officer of The Ogunlesi Group, a talent and music management company. The firm represents several well-known creative figures, including American rapper Young Thug and performer Myles Frost.
His family name carries enormous weight in international finance and Nigerian corporate circles. His father, Adebayo Ogunlesi, is a globally recognized investment banker and infrastructure tycoon who heads Global Infrastructure Partners, an outfit known for buying major international assets such as London's Gatwick Airport.
The unusual role of an ex-husband
The presence of Maguire at the pulpit remained the main talking point of the Hawaiian nuptials. Maguire and Meyer originally tied the knot in 2007. Their marriage lasted nine years before they decided to separate in 2016.
Despite their long separation, the former couple did not legally dissolve their union until very recently. Their divorce was finalized on September 21, 2026, just three weeks before Meyer walked down the aisle to marry Ogunlesi.
